The Effect of Technology in our Society today

First and Foremost, What is Technology? Technology can be defined as the application of scientific knowledge gained from research, testing and knowledg to solving life's problem.  In our society today, Technology has made life more easier and comfortable that it makes society more advanced in nature, it has helped to make task and work easier, Moreover, technology has both it positive and negative impact, first let look at the positive side of technology:

1. EASY AND COMFORTABLE TO USE:  Technology has helped the society in their day to day activity, Tasks and work has been made easier through the use of machines, Take for example, Washing machine, this machine has helped laundry work very easy, you just connect to electricity and do your washing, Infact the Automatic washing machine will dry and iron for you, that is the one example. There are so many Technology that make work very easy, in Companies or industries, Tractors and Bulldozers are used in Farming work and it is quite easy than man-made work.

2) Technology promotes industrialisation and advanced productivity: Technology has helped to produce goods and services in a good manner and this has promoted advanced productivity, technology produces the best goods, compare a hand made to a tech made, the difference will surely be there. Technology has really helped man-kind to achieve a lot in the society.

3) Technology can be used for business in the sense that they can be sold in large quantity and also they can be bought, Cars, Motorcycles, Bicycles, guns, Nuclear weapons are good example of Technology, Take for instance, Cars, Car can be sold and bought, It promotes commerce and finances,In our Society today, POS has been introduced, instead of going to bank, you can carry on transactions on the POS and very easy, In our society, Technology has really helped us in many ways.

Moreover, it has it negative sides which are below;
1) Accident can occur with the use of technology: This is a common problem of technology and machines, it can malfunction and lead to accident which can cause death or injury to the user or worker.

2) Monotony of work; in the sense that when machines are being used in our companies, industries, there will not be vacancy for employment because they need only few workers in the company.

3) Technology has introduced nuclear weapons to fight wars which has been detrimental to human existence because of it capablilities, it can destroy a whole country

In conclusion, Technology is really advancing day to day in the society and has made our tasks and work easier. Individuals should work hand in hand with the government to achieve  development and advancement of technology.

TOP NIGERIAN ATHLETE BANNED FOR 10 YEARS

The disciplinary tribunal of Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) has handed Blessing Okagbare, Nigeria sprinter, a 10-year ban for breaching multiple anti-doping rules. According to the  statement  released by AIU on Friday, the Nigerian got five years for the presence and use of multiple prohibited substances and another half-a-decade for her refusal to cooperate with the body’s investigation of her case. The sprinter was suspended indefinitely during the Tokyo Olympics after AIU had adjudged her to have tested positive for human growth hormone in one of the out-of-competition drug examinations she did in Slovakia on July 19. She was then slammed with three separate anti-doping charges by the body. In January 2022, the US department of justice had also allegedly identified Okagbare among the exhibits gathered against one Eric Lira, the self-acclaimed kinesiologist and naturopathic doctor, who provided performance-enhancing drugs to athletes who participated at the Tokyo Olympics. ...
